Rita Walia
is an associate with the firm of Parker, Kern, Nard & Wenzel and
handles the Southern California operation of the firm from her
office in Riverside.
Ms. Walia is a Southern California native. After graduating from high school as class valedictorian, Ms. Walia attended the University of California at Riverside, where she completed her B.S. with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in English.
Ms. Walia received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in Michigan, where she won several oratory and writing awards in Wayne's Moot Court program. Ms. Walia had the distinction of being the only student to serve on both the Law Review as well as the Moot Court Executive Board during her senior year. During law school, Ms Walia interned with two prestigious employment law firms.
Ms. Walia has extensive experience in civil litigation, including, business commercial litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, public entity defense, employer defense and insurance defense. Prior to joining Parker, Kern, Nard & Wenzel, Ms. Walia practiced as a workers' compensation defense attorney and civil litigation attorney based in Southern California.
Ms. Walia volunteers her time in the local community and is involved with the Riverside Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the California State Bar Association and U.S. District Court, Central District.
